Exploring Post-Industrial Digital Learning Workshop, Bukovel, Ukraine

About Project

This three-day workshop for university educators and administrators was conducted by Dr Olena Mykhailenko and Dr Todd Blayone in the small resort town of Bukovel, Ukraine. Participants were introduced to Collaboritsi’s original model of post-industrial digital learning, which included technological, democratic and authentic dimensions of educational transformation. Participants were guided through a series of individual and team-based activities addressing these dimensions.

Olena and Todd facilitated a hands-one, problem-based learning experience, integrating individual and team-based activity. The culminating group project focused on addressing a problem a relevant problem in higher education.

The Result

This workshop resulted in several group proposals addressing opportunities for the transformation of higher education in Ukraine. The presented proposals generally had a strong technology component as educators sought to integrate freely available, online tools and platforms into their teaching. The stated goals included increasing student engagement and achieving administrative efficiencies.
